I believe that our stories are what connect us.
I’d like to tell you a bit of mine.
Who-lee-ah-nah
Is the way my name is pronounced. I was born and raised in Bogota, Colombia. Spanish is my mother tongue.
In September 2009
I listened to my heart and moved to Toronto with the dream of opening my horizons and building my own life.
From 2010 to 2012
I worked at coffee shops while going to school full time for Creative Advertising. I fell in love with copywriting, but I was also very lost, I couldn’t find my footing.
2013-2019
Decided to pivot into food and beverage. Working in the restaurant industry has taught me some of the most valuable lessons in my life, it’s where I found my closest friends and it’s one of my biggest sources of inspiration. You learn a lot about people working at a restaurants.
2020
Is there anything I can add here that hasn’t already been said?
Ok fine, unemployment, despair, boredom, home cooking, self-reflection, therapy, action, change. Something like that.
2021
Back to school, started a small business (terrifying), writing content and creating strategies for brands. Still home cooking.
